Teaching Opportunities in IGS
NOTE – These teaching opportunities ONLY apply to graduate students admitted to the University of Minnesota
The Institute for Global Studies in the College of Liberals Arts at the University of Minnesota occasionally needs assistance teaching courses within the Institute. As a need arises, the Institute will refer to a pool of qualified applicants who have submitted the appropriate application materials to be considered for openings. These positions will usually be temporary, part-time, single semester (fall, spring, or summer) appointments. Only graduate students in good standing and currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota may apply.
These positions are contingent upon student enrollment, performance, and availability of funding. The applicant pool may be used throughout the year. Applications will not be acknowledged but will be reviewed when openings occur. Applications must be updated or resubmitted for each academic year.
Possible Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate students in assigned course(s) or discussion sessions. Holding office hours to assist and advise students. Participate in relevant departmental meetings.
Qualifications
B.A. in a field related to Global Studies, teaching experience at the college level in a relevant area of study, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and graduate student status at the University of Minnesota.
Salary is commensurate with University guidelines for graduate student remunerations.
