Foreign Language Immersion Program (FLIP)
FLIP Instructors Needed Spring Semester 2008
The Institute for Global Studies and the European Studies Consortium are searching for qualified 50% graduate or adjunct instructors to teach interdisciplinary courses in French, German, or Spanish in the Foreign Language Immersion Program (FLIP) during Spring Semester 2008.
Course proposals for four credit courses are especially welcome in anthropology, cultural studies, economics, European Studies, film, geography, history, Latin American Studies, political science, and sociology. Course proposals for courses supporting the immersion experience (news coverage, cultural activities, language skills) are also welcome. Applicants must be native speakers of the relevant language or have near native proficiency. Three years of teaching experience desired. If applicants have taught a FLIP course in the past, they must submit a course proposal and syllabus for a new, different course.
Minimum Requirements
Must be at least at the ABD level in a discipline appropriate to the proposed course. Adjunct and P & A instructors are welcome to apply.
Application Procedure:
Applicants should send cover letter, vita, a LIST of three references with phone numbers, and a detailed description (syllabus) of each proposed course.
